Hungaria part I:
Tonight 150 Hungarian Guards went to Cegled to invade a Hungarian Roma community.
Most of the Roma women took away their children to safer places because they were afraid of the Hungarian Guard.
Approximately 60 Roma men stayed behind in their homes.
The police assured people that there was to be no problems and everyone would be protected.
Earlier in the evening, the Roma and
the Guards stood face to face with weapons.
The Roma activists, Agi Daroczi, Jeno Zsigo, Janos Barsony, Jeno Setet, Joka Janos Daroczi and 25 others, went to the national police headquarters to report the threat.
Joka Janos Daroczi went to Cegled and remains there.
About 20 minutes after the reporting of the incident, more police were sent over to Cegled.
In the meantime, we got the news that a group of Fradi-Ujpest football fans were heading to Cegled after the match. Reports varied from 400-500 to up to 1,000 people were there. The Hungarian Guard sympathizers have spread through numerous streets where Roma live.
The situation is calm at the moment.
The Roma know and understand that they will not react to these provocations, although they are quite afraid. They are afraid for their lives and their families.
