I am delighted to hear about the existence of Roma in Pakistan. Tharparkar is very close to Karachi and I believe Stoimen mentioned that many Romani people originate from there. I am afraid I do not know much about this culture and I want to be here to learn more about it. I want to know more about local rituals, calendars, lunar or solar cycle celebrations that might be in common with local traditions of Sindh, Karachi or Pakistan. Please share if you know anything. I will be returning to Karachi soon to make a short film about the sighting of the moon for the Islamic calendar. The importance of the lunar calendar looms big in the religion --but only during certain events like Ramzaan, eid, Muharram. Is there any lunar related events coming up or just passed this time of year?
