    Dear Stoimen Vassilev, dear all!

Thank you so much for your encouraging comments and for the great work

that you do keeping the Khetanes website going as a big and positive

    part of the Romani movement.

Some of you will know that following the intervention of Livia Jaroka MEP

and vice-president of the European Parliament, we have been successful

in "opening the door" for more Roma delegates at the EU Workshop that

is taking place in Brussels today [1 October]. Livia held a meeting in

her office on Sunday. Zoran Dimov, president of the IRU, will be at

the Workshop, to put forward among other ideas the proposal for

creation of corps of Roma Ombudsmen.

Being myself enthusiastic about the role that Livia has already in

the Romani movement - with her prominent position as Vice-President

of the European Parliament - I feel that we should together ask Livia

to consider allowing us to elect her as the Honorary President

    of the World Roma Congress

I recall that at the 2nd World Roma Congress in Geneva

in 1978 we elected the late Yul Brynner as our Honorary

President, and he gave a great lift to our movement.

I would like to hear your positive comments so that at

the right time our much valued sister Livia Jaroka can

be "officialy" invited to be our favoured candidate

for becoming the first woman Honorary President

    of the World Roma Congress.

Savorenge kerava but baht, but sastipe!
