The Teacher:
Radoslawa „Rada“ Boguslawska
The passionate, Polish artist has been dancing since 7 years old and is now working as a dance
instructor, choreographer, costume designer and, since 2001, a professional dancer: one of the best polish dancers of Romany Gypsy Dance. She is also a Master of Law. Rada has completed 10 years of
Ballet training, 5 years of Jazz dance, 2 years Improvisation and Dance Theatre, and has taken lessons from a variety of instructors in Poland and beyond: for example, with Beata and Horacio Cifuentes in
Germany, among others.
Since 2003, her dance ensemble RADA DANCE ART has been fascinating audiences with Gypsy dances, Oriental Dance, Flamenco, Bollywood, Cabaret and Musical scenes in Moulin Rouge style.
Rada has also achieved much success on professional stages with her solo performances. Her
calendar is filled with festivals and television performances in Austria, Italy, Germany, Lithuania and the Ukraine. One highlight: Her performance as part of the Eurovision 2005 international music
competition.
She continues to perfect her Roma Stage Dance Art as a soloist with polish Gypsy musical theatre
TERNO , under the direction of Edward Debicki, or with well-known Russian Roma ensembles, such as ILO, GELEM, and RUSKA ROMA. Her spirited and expressive dance style draws especially from the
dance art of the Russian Roma.
The Program
The Romany Dance Autumn School is dedicated to the sensational Russian/Polish Gypsy Stage Show
Art. Three different choreographies, as well as tips for the stage show, taught in an intensive learning program await advanced dancers of this genre or experienced dancers of other dance forms. Each
workshop can also be booked separately. Our recommendation: Use the whole weekend to study
with one of the most versatile and most interesting artistic personalities of the international Gypsy Dance Art!
The lessons will be taught in English. Translation into Polish, German and Russian are possible. Dancing will be done barefoot or in comfortable heeled shoes. Whoever wishes also in high
heels ! Additionally, please bring a wide, floor-long skirt and a large shoulder scarf or shawl. We can also lend you one upon request.

Winter – the mysterious time when the young seed lies under it's white blanket of snow, preparing for it's spring flowering ...the time when the wheels stand still, and people are drawn indoors by the fire ... the time of fairy tales and stories, of reflection and exuberant festivals with singing and dance to shake the frost from chilled limbs ... and sometimes sharing the distress of body and soul ...
Once, the nomadic musicians were sought at this time of year by hostels and grand houses, where they would stay and enjoy shelter and warmth for the long winter, as guests of their hosts – or to put it another way, they paid for their lodgings by providing a long season of entertainment on demand! It is also the time of the candles decorated the salons and of romantic and beautiful musical stage shows ...
Our winter dance school is inspired by this history and atmosphere.
During our weekend of workshops, we will deal with the four pillars of gypsy music theatre: dance, singing, solo and ensemble playing. Of course, we would be delighted for you to spend the whole weekend with us, but you can also book the workshops individually if you prefer. By popular demand, for the first time we are providing workshops suitable for men wishing to learn the Gipsy style! FOR EXAMPLE – you can learn Russian or Polish version of the famous male Romano Stepp first hand, or participate in our singing workshop! On Saturday evening we invite everybody to our Romano Bijav (Gipsy Celebration) and party!
For Friday night (02/07/2013) we have planned an inaugural concert for our ROMANY WINTER DANCE SCHOOL.
