Rromane ćhave
(Roma children)

Many times evoked, the Roma sad situation is well-known. Victims of strong prejudices and a racism which doesn't move practically nobody more, they must generally survive with the double handicap of being poor and Roma, at birth. Millions of Europeans of Roma origin are suffering from major social exclusion. Nobody wants them, while they solely and simply ask to work to live. To help Roma without victimize them is uneasy, because they also have biases, and a great pride.

"Kher bi ćhavenqo, devel bi ćaxrainĕnqo", home without children, starless sky, as the saying goes. My photographs intend to show the Roma as they really are through the most precious for them, their children. One image may be worth a lot of words and shake up some biases, as instruction does.

School remains besides their best chance to come out of the ghettos and to attain to a more fair life. This is the second purpose of my exhibition, to introduce you to our school rehabilitation and support project for young Roma, in collaboration with the NGO Ambrela based in Skopje, Macedonia.
