Text to be distributed among future coaches of Khetanes Juniors:
KHETANES JUNIORS:
Participating coordinators or coaches who are in contact with groups of children or youngsters, are requested to sign up at www.khetanes.org. Thus, they will be able to create pages for their "own" groups of Juniors, who – each as a group – will then also participate as a Khetanes website member.
In the nearest future we may have e.g. the following members:
"Khetanes Juniors Italy"
"Khetanes Juniors Hungary"
"Khetanes Juniors Romania"
And so on, and so further…
--------------------------------------------------------
Content of the individual page:
Profile of the youth (age, type of school, residence)
Name of coordinator/inviter
Email address (Hotmail? A new one?)
Possible website
Photo: groups photo/drawing or logo
Blogs:
As Khetanes members, all Juniors have the opportunity to start a blog on www.khetanes.org, to post comments, photos and videos that can be seen by all. Members as well as visitors of the site.
I suggest that all Khetanes Juniors groups have their own blog, in which they report on daily activities, ambitions, plans and hopes for the future.
They will be able to illustrate with photos and more.
In case they have concrete ambitions in the field of arts or science, they may contact one of the adult Khetanes members and interview e.g. writers, painters or filmmakers. All those are role models. How did they manage as youngsters to fulfill their ambitions and dreams, how do they cope with racism and Romaphobia?
Coaches' responsibility
The publications by youth, deserve a close eye of helping adults. Children are vulnerable, especially children in a vulnerable situation. Not everything has to be said or shown in public. The privacy of children must be respected. The pages, blogs and more are not meant to feed media with sensational details, but to provide youngsters with our arts venue, empowering and encouraging them as their close allies.
All children are equal! They love playing and using their imagination, are curious and eager to learn, all deserve fair chances and opportunities, but in practice all children depend on adults' society to enjoy these basic rights. In practice the position of children differs a lot. The least we can do, is listening to youth, giving them the floor. Taking into account that adults are so much divided whereas children have so much in common, it is a big deal to lend an ear to them.
The frequency of contributions depends on time and readiness of participating youngsters. We hope, however, that at least once per month a group makes a contribution, in written and/or in images. By preference the postings are bilingual, original language and English. For this and much more we (Khetanes Members) offer our assistance!
Follow-up
Bringing into the open ambitions, fears and skills, will not be enough. The rights of children must be implemented. With all adults involved, including legal experts and human rights activist on Khetanes, we will confer on an effective follow-up.
