Barbara Illés Bódi contemporary romanian painter, who was born into
a musician family with four children. The art and the culture weaved
through her everyday life already in her childhood. Her mother was
painter and her father a famous musician. Her diligence and talent
were remunerated with several scholarships.
She completed Károly Eszterházy Teacher’s Training College specialized in art history-drawing, visual communication and passed into Moholy-Nagy University of Art, where got through the steps of imagery. In
the course of years, the artist became a manifold creator, who is able
to meld successfully the different artistic branches and directions. The
intense creativity, the usage of brave colour and
brush are typical of her works, and the nearness
of the nature of the wide-ranging application of
the substances appearing in the nature in the
picture.
►– I draw playful ideas from the endless and varied perfectness of the nature – the artist formulated her ars poetica. – I compose different seeds,
plant stems, leaves, pebbles, pieces of glass or
mosaic tiles onto the surface of the painting with
the point of the formal message and the boosting
of its space dynamic. I am looking for new roads
by taking advantage of the wider opportunities
of the colours and substances appearing in the
nature. I formulate my individual self-expression
with exciting innovations.
Gustav Klimt’s secessionist world has a big effect on me, maybe through my china-painting past. Also, Vincent Van
Gogh’s rich colour contrasts and his rebelling brushwork, beside his
decorative plane-like surfacess, and the brownish realistic depictions
of Mihály Munkácsy. I give significance to the people about the earthly
life’s eternal truths and the perfectness of the nature, of which we are
parts, through colours and forms. For me, the man’s beauty, and the
miracle of our children’s birth, the diversity of the animal and flora
give a rich inexhaustible store to my creator inspiration. Many people
considers that my work are like a dreamland, maybe because we can
remember our happy childhood vividly. Here I would note, that my two
children bring intensely my childlike ego up in me. Pursuing higher
studies on this space however beside the self-expression, I accomplish any seen person, a living being, an object or an individual idea.
As the artist is a formed interior decorator in the style of the inner interior, she can take part with expertise in making artistic creation suiting
the claims or in the formation of an aesthetic flat accessory. It is an
important objective for her to decorate golf clubs, restaurants, cultural
centres with her paintings. ■
