Another Gypsy myth of origin: One upon a time the Gypsies had wings, and were free as the birds. One day, however, they landed on a valley of plenty - and they did not move on, but stayed and feasted... with so much in plenty they became heavier and their wings atrophied and turned into arms. So, when all the goodies ran out, they had nothing left but the sad course of wandering - and the hope that things will be better once...
