Khamoro Budapest Band is a folklore band which plays authentic contemporary gypsy music collected  from all over the country.Beside collections and covers they write, compose and publish their own  original songs.Their virtuosic songs are escorted with oral bass and colorful ornaments. The „listeners” (csacsi vorba) are deeply emotional.The lyrics are about family, love , happyness and sorrow of their actual statement ornamented with thirds.

The band’s musical style is unique. Their songs are principally from the still existing treasure chest of Ófehértó and Nagyecsed, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg- County. Their new CD is based on these roots and values. They made Romanian, Russian and Balkan covers as an innovation in their repertoire.

Due to Zsolt Farkas (the leader) and all the members in the band they became the most archaic group in the country.

Khamoro fights for getting gypsy culture accepted and represented at Hungarian and worldwide cultural forums as they deserve it. The band’s main duty is to improve, propagate and search for gypsy music, dance, gypsy language and traditions.

Further more they fight for the observance of Minority Rights (based on Human Rights) and the dual identity of being Hungarian and Gypsy too.
