Call for Participants: Budapest English Club for Romani Women 

The Tom Lantos Institute seeks applicants for an intensive English-language program for young Romani women in Hungary.

In the first phase of this project, the Tom Lantos Institute would like to help young Romani women in Hungary improve their English-language knowledge and debating skills by participating in a free English language course. In the second phase, participants will have the chance to meet influential women from all over the world and will also have the possibility to meet key decision-makers to discuss issues related to their future careers.

What we offer: 

 

• a 3-month intensive language course with highly-qualified English teachers (two afternoon or evening sessions)

  

• meetings with ambassadors, decision-makers, leaders of international organizations (biweekly, afternoon or evening session)

 

• free advanced English language exam within a year after the end of the program, depending on final test results and active participation

 

The ideal candidate:

 

• is a motivated university student or a young professional;

 

• is a Romani woman between 18 and 30 years of age;

 

• hase at minimum an intermediate level of English knowledge;

 

• has the willingness and courage to share personal opinions about matters related to the debate topics;
   

• has the commitment to actively participate in a year-long program.
