Update for everyone:

1.I've been working on the press pack in the "why" section. This requires more research than writing so far, but I think things are good.

2.I've been working on the text for the letter to Johhny Depp. I am using his love of Romani music as a connection to our desire to stop racism with beauty.

3. The Artists Initiative and the IRADL will be respresented at an event in Iowa, USA. The event is called The Global Village as part of the Iowa Arts Festival. This event is June 3. Children will be given 'passports' as they walk around the village where most European countries will be represented by university students from around the world. At our booth, children will be able to color the Romani flag and wear it as a sticker. I am going to put a call out for photos of Romani art that may be displayed on a backdrop. I'll also have photos of famous Romani artists and actors and I'll have CDs playing music from all forms of Romani bands. I hope to find a wagon wheel stamp and that will be the stamp the children will get in their passports. We may not sell any items at this event.

4. The Artists Initiative and the IRADL will be represented at a cultural "Farmers Market" event in Iowa, USA on August 20 and September 3. I will use the same backdrop and music from the previous events. It is possible to sell things at this event, but I must find out the regulations regarding what we may sell. When I find that out, I will post on the forums.

5. I am also working on a declaration of sorts to send to the actors, writers, director, and anyone else I can think of for Criminal Minds. This letter must not be accusing. It must be more informative and include a call to action. The hard part is, I tend to get a little angry, which gets me a little snarky, so I have had to set this project down more than once.

If anyone has any ideas, wants to help, or would like to do my Russian language homework, please let me know. (I can handle the homework in my other classes, but Russian is killing me.) I am just kidding on the Russian homework, of course. I'm willing to pay someone to do that, LOL!

Dear Els,

Yes, Glenda and I are working together. Her work has been invaluable! One of these days I'll need to buy her a drink ;)

Alas, though, I've had no offers to assist with my homework!

Baxt,

C

Misto san!
1. Sarenge = to [for] all: 'achhen Devlesa' we say leaving place and addressing more than one person staying in this place. If one person we say in sg. achh Devlesa = stay with God [chh marks aspirated ch].
2. Sarenge: if it doesn't annoy I would continue with Romani-English.
3. Ciuinake: ya sdelayu Vashe domashneye zadaniye po Russkomu = I'll do your Russian homework. Send it to nrergo@i.ua
4. Elsake: Press pack, as far as I understand this notion, is a get-together reactions in media, isn't it? If yes, it's just a monitoring and analysis. If press pack means press kit - it's destinated for journalists. Question of terminology: simetimes we need to be informed of the exact meanings. When I said about translations: my personal and my organisation experience urges that collective and argumented publications in media impress wide folks and cause reactions and attract supporters.
Lachi rjat sarenge i Jevropate, lacho des sarenge i Amerikate = Good night [to] all in Europe, good day to all in America

Niko and Valery, you are my heros! If I can't get it finished by tomorrow, I just may take you up on your offers! I am having a devil of a time with perfective/imperfective. And it is not fair that I have to learn a rule and memorize the two or three dozen exceptions! Why exceptions? Well, I have been fighting exceptions for so long that I have trouble accepting them when I have to.

Nais tuke and Cpacibo!

Na, mange phenes 'Nikeske' = No, [to] me [you] address Nikeske.
Ciuinake: Russian is quiet archaic preserving many indoeuropean patterns (as other Slavic lngs). Just say what you are doing now - try to explain (I taught at aschool and university over 30 years). Devel te zhutil tuke
