This is in response to a young lady among us who is hurting after being told who and what she is (or isn't) and after being sent some hate speech.
There are those in the US who don't believe there are Romanies in the US. There are those around the world who don't believe we can make a choice, make a difference, make a stand.

I am so glad that you started the group on Porrajmos (you spell it in a different way, I also saw Porajmos with 1 r). Very good that Niko and you are in close contact. He also has the address rkoch@bigmir.net. Works maybe better than the other one, and you can always communicate through the website. He has a very interesting website, but propably you have seen it already. I hope that Ian Hancock will sign up soon. He gave already his consent to be on the site. Janna Eliot is very good too, but has difficulties in signing up. Marko should help us a bit here, he is an expert on Ning sites. Personally I want to focus on both culture and media groups, having worked as a journalist and a writer for 30 years. But my first priority is a board of Honorary Members and funding. Keep up the good work!

- Sorry, I just saw you have another question about the WWII page, the one under the tab. I am waiting for the texts by Janna Eliot, translator of "Settela's road" (the girl in the wagon) and by Anja Tuckermann, author of the book "Denk nicht, wir bleiben hier", about a Sinti family in Nazi time. These two texts plus illustrations and a photo plus text about "The Great Dictator", film by Charlie Chaplin, son of a Roma mother, will open the page. Very interesting too are the paintings by Gabi Jimenez about the WWII camps and the films by Marika Schmiedt, who interviewed survivors. There is also a beautiful song by Via Romen. We should not forget the component "art". But facts, science, proofs also need to be mentioned. Soon I will make a start and then you and Niko decide what to put under the tab or not. Yours, Els

Sorry for the spelling mistake in the message to all members. I am overloaded, but this is also a good sign. Today I met Ad Hoogendoorn, my old friend from the Resistance movement in the Netherlands. He will forward me names and addresses that hopefully will help you. The father of Ad was a printer who spread publications for the Resistance movement. He was betrayed, arrested and killed. Ad, a younster by then, who assisted his father with printing and tried to save him when the Germans came, was put in prison, where he stayed until the end of the war.
